Dreamwork
“To live at the intersection of time and timelessness is the occupation of the saint.”
T.S. Eliot
Welcome, dreamer.
Our contemplative practices offer a path for us to pursue the intersection of time and timelessness in a conscious way. Spirit also provides a path to timelessness through our unconscious, through our dreams. When we work our dreams individually or in groups, we honor the content delivered through this sacred passage.
Our first dreamwork group began meeting in May 2023. We meet monthly for 90-minute-long sessions on the first Saturday at 3pm PT. This is an open group, so please reach out if you’re interested in joining.
A good start may be reading The Wisdom of Your Dreams by Jeremy Taylor, which presents a comprehensive view of both individual and group dream work. If you don’t already, start recording your dreams in a journal, or even by using the note-taking application on your mobile phone.
We don’t try to interpret meaning for the dreamer, rather we use a projective method to determine meaning from each dream for our own, individual benefit. Often, the dreamer will also benefit from the projections shared by the group. Advance knowledge of Jungian concepts is not at all necessary!
One-to-one dreamwork is a unique process, from person to person, from session to session. Though Carl Jung said, “A dream is its own best interpretation,” we can work together to invite the dream to reveal itself by building relationship with the images, symbols, and narratives offered. All dreams come from the collective unconscious/psyche–a deep, expansive source I hold with great reverence.
